Travel to Mutianyu Great Wall can take Beijing Bus No. 867 at Dongzhimen. One can take Bus No.106, 107, 123, 132, 206, 24 etc or Beijing Subway Line 2, to Dongzhimen bus station.

Beijing Public Bus to Mutianyu Great Wall

a. Mutianyu Great Wall visitors could take Beijing Public Bus No.867 at Dongzhimen  directly to Mutianyu Great Wall  drive about 2.5 hours. Bus No.867 leaves from Dongzhimen Outer for Mutianyu at 07:00 and 08:30 and comes back from Mutianyu Great Wall to Dongzhimen at 14:00 and 16:00. No.867 Beijing bus ticket for a single trip is CNY 16 by cash and by using Beijing Transportation Smart Card is CNY6.4. Please note that the Public Bus No.867 is only available during the high season (usually from late March to November 15th).

b. Mutianyu Great Wall visitors could also take Beijing Public Buses No. 916 or 916快 (express line) at Beijing Dongzhimen Bus Station drive to Huairou Bus Station first, then get off at Qingchun Lu Beikou, Huairou Bei Dajie or the terminus and then hire a Huairou local mini-bus to Mutianyu Great Wall. The Bus No. 916 (express line) is recommended and its duration time is about 60-70 minutes. The mini-bus ride takes about CNY30-40 and 20 minutes; one can also share the mini-bus with others to save money.

c. You also can take a tourist bus from the Arrow Tower of Qiamen (前门箭楼) or Xuanwumen (宣武门) to the Mutianyu Great Wall (available on weekends and Chinese legal holidays from April to October).

Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Notes : Bus No.867 and 916(express line) depart from Dongzhimen Bus Station , which is about 10 minutes’ walk from Jishuitan Subway Station ( Beijing Subway Line 2 ).
