Mutianyu Great Wall
Mutianyu is a section of the Great Wall of China located in Huairou County 70km northeast of Beijing City. The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall with 22 original style watchtowers.
The word Mutianyu [moo-tyen-yoo], meaning ‘Admire Fields Valley’, and Mutianyu Great Wall Section was first built in Northern Qi Dynasty (550 – 557). In Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644), Tan Lun and Qi Jiguang, two famous patriotic generals, rebuilt Mutianyu Great Wall in order to strengthen Mutianyu defensive potential when they guarded the strategic Mutianyu pass.
